Dr. Krishna Jayant completed his bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Tiruchirappalli (Trichy, India) in 2005, and his M.S and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY working with Prof. Edwin Kan. Prior to joining the Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering at Purdue, Krishna was a Kavli postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University, working jointly between the groups of Prof.Rafael Yuste , Prof.Ken Shepard, and Prof.Ozgur Sahin.

- Neural techniques, methods and interfaces (electrical, optical and electrochemical)
- Neuroscience, neuronal biophysics and single channel recordings
- Integrated CMOS sensors and nanosystem engineering
- New materials and state variables for biophysical imaging and sensing
