Undergraduate Researchers

 

Jason Zuniga    (currently in lab)     

Jason is a senior in Biology at Purdue and is also a honor’s student. He is currently researching behavioral techniques in somatosensation in the lab. 

Alec Christopher Booth    (Alumnus / period in lab: 2021-2022)     Current: Indiana University (pursuing MD)

Alec joined the lab as a Junior at Purdue while pursuing his bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering. Alec  researched cortical dynamics in the rodent auditory cortex as a function of multi-tone pips. 

Lindsay Alyson Karaba (Alumna / period in lab: 2019-2021)     Current: Cornell University (pursuing PhD)

Lindsay joined the lab as a sophomore at Purdue while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Electrical Engineering. She researched how to perform electrophysiology and analyze recordings. Lindsay was awarded a SURF fellowship for summer 2019. Lindsay received a 2019-2020 DURI Fellowship and was also  selected as amongst 20 students from across the globe for the Janelia Undergraduate Research Program. Lindsay was awarded an NSF graduate fellowship for projects performed in our lab. 

Alyssa Jane Santiaguel Ignaco  (Alumna / period in lab: 2019-2021) Current: University of Rochester (pursuing PhD)

Alyssa joined the lab as sophomore at Purdue while pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Biology. Alyssa researched how to perform two-photon imaging and methods used to analyze calcium activity. Alyssa was awarded a SURF fellowship for summer 2019. Alyssa also travelled to ETH Zurich on a study abroad program.

Noah Smith      (Alumnus / Spring 2020) 

Noah is a Junior at Purdue pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (honors). Noah is currently a Beering Scholar, is on the Dean’s List for scholarly excellence and has also received Semester Honors. Noah is researching flexible transistors for brain activity mapping.
